Cody A. Eckert, AIA, Principal

Ms. Eckert possesses over 20 years of experience as the principal of Cody Eckert & Associates, PA, which she founded in 1983.  She is still lead designer for all of the firm’s most notable projects and provides professional leadership on all aspects of the firm’s operations.  Her hands-on management approach lead to careful attention to detail for every client and every project.  Ms. Eckert’s extensive talent has been recognized by her firm’s receipt of various design awards for such notable projects as the Sovereign Bank Arena, The Children’s Home Society and the New Brunswick State Theater. 

Cody A. Eckert is also a professional, award-winning artist, known for her distinctive use of color. Her painting, “Orchid” was created as a vision and interpretation of the flower through Ms. Eckert’s analysis.  The painting received the “1981 Garden State Water Color Society Award” and has been requisitioned for many of her shows. In 1997 “Orchid” was placed into production in China as a carpet design. Its execution has resulted in an extraordinary representation of the initial work.  “Orchid” is used in this Web site as the background design.  In 1994 Ms. Eckert, was invited to present her work “New York City” at the Modern Japan Watercolor Exhibition. From over four hundred international entries, Ms. Eckert was presented with the “1994 Modern Japan Watercolor Exhibition Second Place Award”.

Ms. Eckert’s artistic abilities have been valuable in the transfer of an aesthetic approach along with the artistic knowledge needed to produce individual and aesthetic interiors for her Clients. Her personal involvement with all firm projects has created a reputation for individual attention, generating a repeat clientele that has been most generous in their recommendations of this firm.

Ms. Eckert is licensed to practice architecture in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Maryland.

D. Warren Buonanno, AIA, Senior Associate
Mr. Buonanno possesses an extensive professional knowledge and ability developed over thirty years of experience in the field of architecture.  He has acted as designer and project manager for many of the firm's projects during his nine years with Cody Eckert and Associates including coordinating the firm's work at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and acting as lead architect for the renovation and restoration at the historic Eberhardt Hall at the NJIT campus. 

His responsibilities encompass a wide range of projects in the municipal, higher education, health care and private sectors. In addition to project management, his responsibilities include client relations, contractual issues and project construction administration. Mr. Buonanno maintains excellent communication skills and success in time and budget management while achieving outstanding design.

Prior to joining Cody Eckert & Associates in 1995, Mr. Buonanno was a principal in his own firm for over twelve years. Preceding that, he was affiliated with several notable New Jersey Architectural firms.  During Mr. Buonanno's previous affiliations his experience covered a broad spectrum of significant projects, several of which were the recipients of design awards.  He is a licensed Architect in the states of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
